We've been telling each other the worst case scenario as a risk-mitigation method since we could gesture emphatically. So it's very human to be totally concerned to terrified that the Leafs might hire the wrong guy.
One of the hardest things to do is be the person who stands there and says, "But are you sure?" because someone in the full thrall of an anxiety drama doesn't want to hear how they might have jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Last night Laval took the opener from the Marlies in their series.
The Canadiens went up 3-2 over the Lightning, and the Penguins and Flyers took a 0-0 tie to overtime and Pittsburgh dominated for the third and most of OT and lost anyway. The Flyers move on.
The Mammoth and Vegas now have someone up 3-2 in that series.
