John Tavares scored and added a primary assist in the Leafs 3-2 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. With 27 points in 21 games playing 20+ minutes a night at 35 years of age, he has been the 1C leader the Leafs have needed this season.
His line with William Nylander looked dynamic, relentless, and fast. They played with Calle Järnkrok in the first half of the game, but then Easton Cowan was put onto their line. Järnkrok swapped onto the Laughton line where Cowan started the game.
Overall, it was a good showing from the Leafs, except at the end in overtime when the lack of carefulness by Max Domi led to a quick turnover and quick goal to end the game.
